After all these years, I finally received an email questioning the validity of Systematic Reconciliation.  It was a moment that I expected many years ago.  Below is my main response to that email.  It is my prayer that you also may learn from that email and my response. This is the only email I have received on this matter in almost 10 years---as of this writing.

Dear Mike,

Now that the weekend is over, thank you for contacting me with your concerns.

There are some differences between Universalism and Systematic Reconciliation, which I hope you understand.

One of the tenets of Universalism is that God is the Father of all.  I do not subscribe to that belief.

God is the Father, by adoption, of all who are called and ordained to place their trust in Christ Jesus as Lord.  Those who place their trust in Him during this life-time are “saved.”

That is mainstream theology and the basis for Systematic Reconciliation.

The main point of contention between mainstream theology and Systematic Reconciliation is:

Mainstream theology teaches eternal torment.

Systematic Reconciliation teaches that eventually in God’s time, and again through His grace, all shall be reconciled to God through the work of Christ Jesus and not through any sort of personal effort.

If we truly understand the meaning of the word “eternal,” man being a created being cannot experience “eternal” torment.  And, the Bible never speaks of eternal torment.

Although some seek to eliminate the concept of the Lake of Fire, it is obvious to any thinking Christian that the lake of Fire does exist.  To you the purpose of the lake may be punitive, while to me the purpose of that same lake is remedial.

You may well ask, how long will that remediation take?  My answer is, “I don’t know.”  That is in God’s hands alone.  He did not ask for my advice in that matter.

In the matter of salvation we probably are in total agreement.  Those who trust in Christ in this life have true life. Those who do not trust in Christ in this life will have their part in the Lake of Fire.

The disagreement comes when we discuss the purpose and the duration in the lake of Fire.

I hope this clarifies my position in contrast to yours.

May God Continues to Bless You,

Darroll

***Note: God’s remediation is nothing like the purgatory teaching of the Roman Catholics.  His remediation is grace based without benefit of any man-made works!

Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.   (NKJV)

God consumes sin---not sinners!

Christ died for sinners so that they could be free from the effects of sin!
